As 2019 comes to an end...
...I thought I would make a promise to myself to make a good go of blogging in 2020.
I'm at the classic point in life, which seems to come around every year, where I can't wait for the new year to start. The last couple of months haven't been the most enjoyable and whilst it's silly to think that a new day can create a new slate where the problems of the day before can't affect you going forward, if it helps you get out of bed then why not believe that ey?
2019 wasn't all bad. Our little Ted joined the family from Wiccaweys Rescued Border Collies & Working Dogs in October. Little Ted came over from Romania where it was thought he was living on the streets and didn't have the best start in life. So we welcomed Ted into our family and it's like he's always been a part of it. He is spoilt rotten with love and I couldn't be without him.
2019 also brought us the start of a new adventure with the purchase of a van, MichaelVangelo! The van is currently part converted. We have had the pop top done to give us extra head space and a snug sleeping compartment and went on our first adventure in September down to Devon (before Ted's arrival). Ryan is currently at a loss regarding the layout for the living arrangements in the back but we're hoping to hop over to Ireland with the doggos in the summer next year so we'll be cracking on with the conversion. We will also be documenting the conversion and our adventures in a blog and/or instagram account so watch this space!
During 2019 I tried to make a number of lifestyle changes, including swapping to all cruelty free make up, which I successfully achieved. Some changes were not quite as successful, including minimising my single use plastic use and changing to a vegetarian diet. Whilst in the most part my diet was vegetarian, with the odd slip up, the last couple of months seem to have involved a lot of lazy meal choices resulting in me eating a lot more meat than I would have liked. Moving forward I will aim to live on a pescatarian diet with a move towards fully vegetarian. I also intend to have a personal big push on living more environmentally friendly by choosing consciousness over convenience.
I'll be updating my blog with my personal journey to making these changes and look forward to any tips you may have to help!
Happy new year everyone!
